Où se situe la formation discursive eurorégionale par rapport à d'autres discours de la construction européenne ? Comment les eurorégions préfigurent-elles une organisation européenne qui bouscule nos représentations ancrées dans les États ? Quels procédés communicationnels installent les configurations transfrontalières dans les esprits ? Pour répondre à ces questions, divers types de discours produits en plusieurs langues ont été recueillis sur le web, principal vecteur de visibilité des eurorégions. L’ouvrage articule une analyse du discours à orientation linguistique et une analyse sémiotique appliquée aux médias. Les scénarios discursifs et sémiotiques sont systématiquement confrontés pour mettre en évidence leur (dés)alignement et, par-là, les invariants et les tensions de la communication transfrontalière.
Tandis qu’elle n’hésite pas à mobiliser des interdiscours et des imaginaires contradictoires, la communication transfrontalière érige les eurorégions en modèles d’une nouvelle Europe. La démarche mobilise l’histoire de la construction européenne, incontournable pour comprendre l’éclosion de la communication transfrontalière, et les sciences du langage, indispensables à l’appréhension d’un discours multilingue en ligne.
