Reinhilde Veugelers received her Ph.D. in Economics at KU Leuven, 1990. She is Full Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of the KU Leuven. She was a Visiting Scholar/Professor at Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Sloan School of Management, MIT, and New York University, as well as UCL, ECARES-ULB, Paris I, UPF & UAB (Barcelona), Universiteit Maastricht and BETA (Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg).
Her research centers on industrial organization, international economics and strategy. Specific topics include incentives for innovation activities, international technology transfers through MNEs, impact on local R&D of multinational competition, internal and external technology sourcing, industry science links and their impact on innovative productivity and scientific productivity
